About me

Brief Description

I am passionate about Artificial Intelligence. During my professional career, I have applied machine learning and deep learning on a wide variety of areas such Computer Vision or Natural Language Processing. I have a wide experience in applying these techniques, from traditional machine learning techniques to state of art Deep Learning architectures:

  • Traditional machine learning: Linear Models, SVMs, Gradient Boosting, ...
  • Deep Learning: MLPs for data classification, LSTMs for time series, CNNs for image classification, Faster-RCNN and YOLO for computer vision.
  • Reinforcment Learning techniques such as DQN or A3C.

I am currently the head of the Data Science and Deep Learning department at Treelogic, where I have experience in personnel and project management following scrum and agile methodologies. Especially in international european projects under the H2020 work programme.

I am also Adjunct Professor ("profesor asociado") in the Signal Theory and Communications department of the University Carlos III de Madrid, where I teach some courses related with machine learning and computer vision. This combination of research in academia and industry has oriented my career to solve real problems.

My hobbies include taking part in Machine Learning competitions, such as those organized by Kaggle where he has won several awards and he has reached the top 100 of the world ranking of data scientist.
